Frindle - Finishing up the book this week. Working on comprehension and fluency.
Grammar/Language Arts - Finishing up Unit 1... Compound Sentences, Complex Sentences, & Correcting Fragments and Run-ons, Unit Test when we are done with these lessons. Hopefully, by the end of the week.
Science - Classifying Plants and Animals. Finishing up Chapter 1
Math - We're in the middle of Lesson 1-3, Lesson 1-4 - rounding whole numbers, Lesson 1-5 Problem Solving and Constructing Arguments.
Religion - Chapter 2 - Discussing Mass, the Last Supper, and reading about Pope Pius X
Students are set up on the Envisions Math Web Site. The web address is...

Each Student has a user name and password. They went home with them Friday, I stapled them into their planner.
Week of 9/21/15:
Math - Finishing Lesson 1-2 Place Value Relationships and beginning Lesson 1-3 Compare Whole Numbers. We will continue to practice and review previous skills and facts. I hope everyone has had time to explore the envisions website. We will be exploring more in class on Monday. Weds we will do STAR 360 Math testing. Friday we will go to 5th grade to use their chrome books and the eno board.
Religion - Chapter 1 Review. Writing prompt... How do we answer God's call to love our neighbors at home? at school? in our community? Begin Chapter 2 - Special gifts God has given us.
Science - We will continue Chapter 1 - classifying living things... plants & animals...
Reading - "Frindle" Lit Circle
Grammar - Simple Subjects and Simple Predicates. Simple and Compound sentences.

Math - Continuing with place value, >, <, Rounding to the 100,000's. We are reasoning, looking for relationships, solving word problems, learning how to make sense of problems, and persevering in solving them. We will also be practicing our fact fluency.
Science - Classification of Animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. Classification of plants into vascular plants and non vascular plants.
Social Studies - With Mrs. Dwyer
Religion - The Holy Trinity, the story of creation, and St. Thomas of Aquinas
Grammar - simple subjects, simple predicates, compound and complex sentences
